All students taking a master’s degree at AUA Online are required to attend 2 residencies at one of the designated AUA instruction sites. Currently, all these sites are located in different parts of Africa.
- Each student is required to attend the first residency within the first 6 months of starting classes at AUA Online. This residency helps the student in getting acquainted with AUA, its structure, philosophy, services, resources, and expectations.
- Each student is required to attend the last residency within 6 months before or after the coursework completion. This residency helps prepare the student for the final phases of the program, including but not limited to thesis or project, comprehensive exam, and fieldwork.
- It is the student’s responsibility to work with his/her Online Program Director to select the most appropriate venue and schedule to attend these residencies.
